Assoc. Prof. Evrim ÜstünlüoÄŸlu

​

Assoc. Prof. Evrim ÜstünlüoÄŸlu  has been working as a lecturer at Ä°zmir University of Economics. She has a strong background as a director, a researcher, and a lecturer for over 30 years.  As a director, she supervised curriculum and instructional development activities; coordinated the work within the school; oversaw  the efficient operation of the Preparatory, Freshman and Second Foreign Language Departments of the SFL; and represented the SFL at university level councils and committees and in external forums. As a researcher, she has conducted several research projects on language teaching and educational sciences and attended many conferences. She has publications in international and national journals.  As a faculty member,  she has taught  at all levels in the field of language and  educational sciences. She has also taken active steps in quality assurance and accreditation in order to ensure excellence in the provision of all teaching and training. She is a qualified reviewer of CEA, a founding member of  DEDAK, TESOL Turkey and TESOL Turkey LAMSIG. She is a board member of IATEFL LAMSIG.  

Engin Ayvaz

 

Engin has worked at higher education institutions as an ESL/EFL instructor, leader and consultant for more than 20 years and is currently the Director of Intensive English Center at Tennessee State University. Prior to that, he served as the Director of School of Foreign Languages at Yasar University in Izmir-Turkey for 12 years and successfully led the IEP to receive its Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA) accreditation in 2011 and reaccreditation in 2016.  Engin was a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow at Boston University and a visiting Fulbright fellow at the English Language Studies Department at M.I.T. He  served as a CEA Commissioner for the 2014-16 term and was the 2017 Chair of the CEA Commission. He currently serves on the Executive Board of EnglishUSA (the American Association of Intensive English Programs). In Turkey, he led a task force charged to establish the Accreditation Board for Language Education (DEDAK).  On its 50th Anniversary, TESOL International Association recognized Engin as one of the 30 emerging leaders who will shape the future of both the association and the profession for years to come. His work focuses on quality and excellence in language teaching and international higher education.

Mehmet Atasagun​

 

Mehmet Atasagun is the director of the School of Foreign Languages at BahçeÅŸehir University (BAU), Istanbul, and the director of BAU TÜRKMER, Center for Turkish as a Second/Foreign Language.  He holds a Bachelor's degree in English Language Teaching (ELT), Master's degrees in ELT and Educational Studies, and is doing his PhD in Foreign Language Education.  He has designed and implemented English Language programs in the USA, Canada, the UK, Germany, Cyprus and Georgia within BAU ESL Program, which enables BAU students to study English abroad.  He has also designed and managed various coursebook projects, teacher-training programs, and technology enhanced language learning programs.  He took the 'Trainer Development Course' offered by the British Council.   He has been involved in quality assurance and accreditation as the director of the school which delivers a CEA accredited Intensive English Program.  He is also a founding member of DEDAK, an association for language education, evaluation and accreditation in Turkey.

Bahar Gün​

​

Dr. Bahar Gün holds BA, MA and PhD degrees in ELT. She has been working at Ä°zmir University of Economics since 2003. She currently works as the Head of the Teacher Development Unit in the School of Foreign Languages (SFL) at IUE.  She is in charge of in-service teacher training and development programs in the SFL. Her research interests include EFL teacher education in general, and teacher cognition and reflective teaching and learning in particular. She is also a CELTA and ICELT tutor, and an OTA trainer. She is the president of TESOL Turkey Association.

Aslı Derin Anaç

​

Aslı Derin Anaç is currently holding the position of the Academic Coordinator of the Bilgi University English Preparatory Program. She holds a Master’s degree from Bogaziçi University on Foreign Language Education. She has a twenty-three-year background in ELT teaching and coordinating different units of Foundation Year English and ELT programs. She has been a member of Bilgi University Prep Program CEA Accreditation Steering Committee and her main interest and supervision lies in conducting and reporting program reviews for intensive English programs.
