DEDAK Accreditation Training 2023

DEDAK held the 2nd DEDAK Accreditation Training online on January 18, 2023 for the representatives of three new programs that were accepted to the accreditation process as of January 2023. During the training, the program representatives were given detailed information about DEDAK accreditation culture and processes, DEDAK criteria and scopes, and the writing of the self-evaluation report, and questions from institutions were answered.
2. DEDAK Accreditation Process General Information Meeting
The second DEDAK Accreditation Process General Information Meeting, which was held within the scope of informing institutions before accreditation applications, was held online by DEDAK President Didem Mutçalıoğlu on November 22, 2022 at 14:30.
DEDAK was entitled to receive YÖKAK Quality Evaluation Registration Certificate for a period of 2 years as of 15.09.2021.

As the Language Education Evaluation and Accreditation Association, we were entitled to receive YÖKAK Quality Evaluation Registration Certificate for a period of 2 years as of 15.09.2021. Receiving the YÖKAK Quality Evaluation Registration Certificate is a turning point for DEDAK, which it has been aiming for for a long time.
We sincerely thank everyone who worked hard to obtain this document, spared time for their busy schedules, and believed in and supported DEDAK throughout this process.
We will now make our final preparations and start accepting accreditation applications in a few months. We will inform you about the application dates and conditions in the beginning of November.
In addition, we will set the dates for activities such as evaluator training, information meetings, sample application sharing, and we will share them with you.

At the 2nd International Conference on Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Foreign Language Education held at Izmir University of Economics on 10-11 November 2022, the President of YÖKAK, Mr. Muhsin Kar, and the presidents of international accreditation boards in the field of language education such as CEA and EQUALS presented their presentations. A presentation about DEDAK was made by Didem Mutçalıoğlu. In the meeting with wide participation, the participants were informed about DEDAK.
DEDAK 2nd Evaluator Training

DEDAK 2nd Evaluator Training was held on 2-3 July 2022 for a full half day and in English by experienced evaluators and trainers working in DEDAK. 30 people from 23 Higher Education Institutions attended the training. Participants in this training will be able to act as evaluators within the scope of DEDAK's accreditation studies.

In the training, detailed information was given to the program representatives about DEDAK accreditation culture and processes, DEDAK criteria and scopes, and the writing of the self-evaluation report, and questions from institutions were answered.

DEDAK Accreditation General Information Meeting was held on 21 December 2021.
136 people attended the meeting where information about the accreditation process was shared and questions were answered.

2022 DEDAK Accreditation Applications
​
Language Education Evaluation and Accreditation Association (DEDAK) will accept the accreditation applications of English Preparatory Programs within Higher Education institutions in Turkey between 1-30 January 2022.
The application form of the programs to be applied must be submitted with a wet signature and completely on 30 January 2022 at the latest.info@dedak.orgaddress should be forwarded.
After the application, applications will be evaluated in February, and 6 main and 3 alternate programs will be announced, which will start the DEDAK accreditation process on March 1, 2022 at the latest. The selection of the program will be made in the order that will be formed by a scoring system prepared by taking into account the fields for which information is requested in the form, such as the number and percentage of students attending the compulsory preparatory school, and readiness.
If one of the main programs is withdrawn from the process, alternate programs will be included in the process according to the alternate order, or if this is not the case, these programs will be given priority in the 2nd application process.

DEDAK YÖKAK Visit

DEDAK Board of Directors members, on November 24, 2021, Chairman of the Higher Education Quality Board Prof. Dr. He met with Muzaffer Elmas and shared DEDAK's future plans and received YÖKAK's views.
DEDAK 2nd Ordinary General Assembly Held
​
The 2nd Ordinary General Assembly of DEDAK was held on April 9, 2021, at its second meeting, which did not require a majority. Since 16 out of 44 members attended, the general assembly was held with the agenda items planned at the meeting, in which twice the number of full members of the board of directors and supervisory board were present. After the election of the council committee, the activity report was presented. It was unanimously decided (with the votes of 16 participants) that the board of directors and supervisory boards should continue with the same members. Information about the content and status of YÖKAK registration application was shared. Since the agenda items were completed after the wishes and wishes, the Chairman of the Council ended the Ordinary General Assembly meeting.
First Reviewer Training was Held
32 people from 25 higher education institutions attended the DEDAK Reviewer Training, which was given by the CEA Reviewer Trainer Nicole Martello and the Chair of DEDAK Didem Mutcalıoğlu on 22-23 December 2018. Participants in this training will take part as evaluators within the scope of DEDAK's accreditation studies.

DEDAK Standards Focus Group Meeting was Held
The focus group meeting was held on 16 November 2018 with 19 participants from different higher education institutions in order to receive feedback on the content and clarity of the DEDAK standards and finalize them accordingly. Both Turkish and English standards were reviewed. During the meeting, each DEDAK standard was evaluated within the scope of clarity and content suitability. In line with the notes and decisions taken at the meeting, the standards have been finalized.
DEDAK Initiated Accreditation Studies with 2 Pilot Programs
DEDAK accepted applications from institutions in February 2019 to begin pilot accreditation studies with 1 foundation and 1 state university. In the process where 3 foundations and 11 state universities applied, the number and proportion of students studying in English-medium departments were taken as the selection criteria. In the ranking made according to this criterion, among the applications of Ankara University, English Preparatory School and Ä°zmir University of Economics English Preparatory School were selected as the first university in their category. After the official accreditation applications with the pilot programs, studies have started. Visits were made to both institutions and the first accreditation training was provided. The pilot program process is aimed to improve the accreditation processes and practices by receiving feedback from the pilot programs regarding the processes and standards.
