Asst. Prof. Dr. Tijen Aksit

Dr. Tijen Aksit is Assistant Professor at Faculty of Education, and Director of School of English Language and its Faculty Academic English Program, Bilkent University. She is also a member of the university’s Quality Commission. Aksit has been teaching undergraduate level English for academic purposes, and graduate level teacher education and educational administration courses for more than thirty years. She has assumed a key role in the development and piloting of a quality assurance external review program for the English language preparatory schools of higher education institutions in Turkey working with the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council. She is the author of Characteristics of Effective Schools, and Co-editor of Bridging Teaching, Learning and Assessment in the English Language Classroom and The Future of Teaching English for Academic Purposes. Aksit researches and publishes in the area of English medium instruction, teaching English for academic purposes, English language teacher, and quality assurance in English language programs of higher education.
Ä°lkay Bülbül
Ä°lkay Bülbül holds her BA and MA degrees in ELT from BoÄŸaziçi University. She has over twenty years of experience in the field as a language instructor and lecturer. Since 2003, she has been working at the English Language Programs at Ä°stanbul Bilgi University, where she has taught EAP courses as well as General English classes at all levels and for all skills. She also worked in the curriculum and assessment offices of the Preparatory Program of the university for numerous years, mainly responsible for the exit level of the program. During her time in the curriculum office, she served as a member of the CEA Accreditation Steering Committee. She has recently worked as the Steering Committee Coordinator for the CEA reaccreditation of the Preparatory Program and served as the ALO support for the WSCUC (WASC Senior College and University Commission) accreditation process of Ä°stanbul Bilgi University. She has been a member of DEDAK since 2018 and a trained CEA reviewer.
Serhat Uzun
Serhat Uzun currently works as the Associate Director of School of Foreign Languages at BahçeÅŸehir University, Istanbul, Turkey. Prior to his current role, he worked as a level coordinator and CEA self-study coordinator for the English Preparatory Program at BahçeÅŸehir University. He holds an MA in Western Languages and Literatures from Istanbul University. Previously, he taught Intensive English and Freshmen English courses at Beykent University. He has extensive experience in university teaching and Intensive English program course design. A member of DEDAK, the Council for Language Education, Evaluation and Accreditation in Turkey, since 2017. Serhat is a trained CEA site reviewer.
Dr. Serkan Aras
Serkan Aras works as the Undergraduate English Programme Coordinator at ÖzyeÄŸin University. He received his combined BA and MA degree in English Teacher Education from Bilkent University in 2008 and his PhD in American Culture and Literature from Kadir Has University in 2018. He also holds a DELTA from Cambridge University. Prior to ÖzyeÄŸin University, he worked at Ä°stanbul Bilgi University as an instructor.
Åžebnem Öztürk
Orta DoÄŸu Teknik Üniversitesi Ä°ngilizce ÖÄŸretmenliÄŸi bölümü mezunu olup EÄŸitim Yönetimi alanında doktora derecesine sahiptir. 2009 yılından beri TOBB ETÜ’de öÄŸretim görevlisi olarak çalışmaktadır. 10 yıldan uzun bir süredir Ä°ngilizce öÄŸretimi, yönetim ve program geliÅŸtirme gibi alanlarda çeÅŸitli sorumluluklar üstlenmektedir. EÄŸitim yönetimi alanında örgütsel baÄŸlılık, kimlik, özyeterlik gibi konularda çalışmalar yürütmektedir.
